3. The diminishing importance among those who seek to follow Jesus for knowing, maintaining, and defending sound doctrine.

4. It doesn’t matter what you believe… as long as you believe in Jesus.

5. 1 Corinthians 1:10 (NASB-U) Now I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be made complete in the same mind and in the same judgment.

6. John 17:20-21 (NASB) 20 "I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; 21 that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.

7. It doesn’t matter what you believe, as long as you have "a personal relationship with Jesus Christ."

10. Acts 2:42
"continually devoting themselves to the apostles' [doctrine] teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."
Webster's Random House Dictionary, the word "doctrine" means, "a body or system of teachings relating to a particular subject."
In short, doctrine is teaching.

11. Acts 5:28 the high priest in Jerusalem accused the apostles of having "filled Jerusalem with their doctrine."
Our obedience to the gospel in Romans 6:17 is referred to as our obeying a certain "form of doctrine."
1 Timothy 4:13 - "Until I come, give attention to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation and doctrine."

12. 1 Timothy 1:10. 20. The Person Who Does Not Abide In The Doctrine of Christ Is Without God.
“Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ, does not have God..."
2 John 1: "Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ, does not have God; the one who abides in the doctrine, he has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house, and do not give him a greeting; for the one who gives him a greeting participates in his evil deeds."

22. Christ's Doctrine Is Truth and It Alone Will Set Men Free.
John 8: Jesus therefore was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, "If you abide in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
The NIV puts that verse this way: "If you hold to my teaching [doctrine], you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
