3. General description of the book:
Our book for both classes is “Family and Friends” by Oxford publishers.

4. Family and Friends
The students need both: the Class book & the Workbook.
The Class book includes all the dialogues, text, vocabulary words, grammar rules & listening exercises.
The workbook includes practical exercises of all what is in the Class book.

5. General Course Description
Our English courses throughout the classes aim at developing fluency and accuracy in the learners’ productive and receptive language skills. Students are expected to practice the skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening.

6. General Aims
To read fluently and expressively, with correct punctuation and intonation.
To use the themes and issues discussed in class as a springboard for writing creatively and formally.
To apply the knowledge of grammar and vocabulary to the writing.
To voice opinion with confidence clearly and logically with correct language.

7. Assessment Grades will be based on the following:
Class participation and effort.
Announced and unannounced quizzes.
Tests
Homework (homework will be given on daily basis taking into consideration the time frame).
Extension activities (projects/ research papers).

8. Language used in class
All students are capable of speaking English. They need to try and put an effort. Speaking Arabic in class is not allowed in order to achieve the aims mentioned above.
