He asked ballerina, Ellen Price, if she wants to be model to create the statue of Little Mermaid.
Edvard Eriksen created bronze statue, which was unveiled on 23 August 1913.

5. Carl Jacobsen He was born in 1842 and died in 1914.
He was a Danish brewer and art collector.
He was a son J. C. Jacobsen, which founded brewery Carlsberg.

6. Vandalism In year 1964 the head of statue was stolen.
In year 1984 the right arm of statue was stolen.
