2 OVERVIEW Introduction Embedded System Block Diagram AC Supply LED

3 Introduction A string of LED’s are made to operate at 230V AC. A series capacitor is used to drop the voltage and a resistor is used to limit the current . The voltage is then rectified to DC for maintaining a safe operating voltage for the LEDs. Numbers of LEDs are used to give adequate illumination from ac supply. White LEDs are preferred to be used as they deliver bright light.

4 EMBEDDED SYSTEMS Definition for :- EMBEDDED SYSTEMS
A combination of hardware and software which together form a component of a larger machine. An example of an embedded system is a microprocessor that controls an automobile engine. An embedded system is designed to run on its own without human intervention, and may be required to respond to events in real time.

7 AC SUPPLY Alternating Current (AC) flows one way, then the other way, continually reversing direction. An AC voltage is continually changing between positive (+) and negative (-). The rate of changing direction is called the frequency of the AC and it is measured in hertz (Hz) which is the number of forwards-backwards cycles per second.

8 LED LEDs are semiconductor devices are made out of silicon
When current passes through the LED, it emits photons as a byproduct. Normal light bulbs produce light by heating a metal filament until its white hot LEDs present many advantages over traditional light sources including lower energy consumption, longer lifetime, improved robustness, smaller size and faster switching
