2 GreenpowerUSA’s Objective To advance education in the subjects of sustainable engineering and technology to young people. Greenpower runs engineering challenges for schools based around designing and building a single seat electric powered race car. Mission Statement of GreenpowerUSA To promote and to enhance the delivery of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)-based education through a design-build-race competition of student-driven electric cars.

3 New Teams to the District The Columbia, Grissom and Jemison feeder patterns have the Greenpower program implemented in 21 of the 22 schools Goblin Program (5th Grade) F24 Program (Middle/High) Weatherly Elementary Rolling Hills P-6 Lakewood P-6 Dawson P-6 Williams P-5 Providence P-5 Morris P-5 Ridgecrest P-5 New Century Williams Middle Westlawn Middle Hampton Cove Middle Huntsville High Whitesburg P-8 (2nd Team) Challenger Middle (2nd Team)

4 International Finals – England 13 students from Jemison and Grissom High School competed with 75 teams from across the globe in the Greenpower International Finals We qualified in 4th position at the NCAT facility in Auburn, AL Students were trained by ETV to record race footage, conduct interviews and construct informational videos. We competed with two cars for the first time this year Kit Car – Genesis This car was built by the students in 6 weeks. We placed 8th overall in the Kit Car Finals against 36 teams We also competed in the F24+/Corporate Challenge division to collect valuable information for future events Custom Car – Ares We placed 21st out of 75 teams in the F24 International Finals We competed in two different heats and overcame electrical issues that caused our car to not function properly

5 Jemison Classic International Greenpower Race Several organizations helped make this event a wonderful opportunity for our students in Huntsville City Schools

6 Jemison Classic International Greenpower Race 40 teams competed in the first International race in the United States. Students from China worked with HCS 5th Graders at Morris and Mt. Gap to build a Goblin racecar Students from Scotland toured the Advanced Manufacturing Labs at Jemison and Grissom High School Middle and High School teams gave presentations to representatives from IUPUI and were scored based on a standard rubric Goblin events consisted of three events: Drag Race Slalom Race Circuit Race F24 events consisted of two events: Middle School Race High School Race
