BOB'S HOUSE PEPSI On January 31st 2008 the Alexander Graham Bell Association (AG Bell association) wrote a letter to Pepsi Co. in regards to a commercial they aired during the Super Bowl. They felt Pepsi Co. shouldn’t have made the commercial. In response, National association for the deaf (NAD) wrote them a letter back, and also performed it in ASL

? ? ? QUESTION Why is the AG Bell association so upset that Pepsi Co. aired a commercial appealing to the deaf audience?
3
ANSWER! The AG Bell Association feels that people should not be encouraged to embrace their deaf heritage. They feel that deaf is a handicap. In their letter to Pepsi Co. they said that the large business was too big to air a commercial appealing to deaf audiences. They went on to say that Pepsi Co. should have donated the money used in the commercial to the AG Bell Association so they could buy hearing aids for young deaf kids.
