Vs. 2, “I will behave wisely in a perfect way.” Perfect (blameless) Noah – Gen. 6:9 Job – Job 1:1 Phil. 2:14-15, 2 Pet. 3:14

Vs. 2, How often do we begin a serious task with good intentions? The challenge is to keep that perfection as time wears on. How do we do that? Consider this psalm!

Vs. 2, “Oh, when will You come to me?” David’s desire for the Lord’s influence (cf. John 15:5)

Vs. 2, “I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.” The pure heart (Matt. 5:8) Purity if found not only when in public, but also when in the privacy of our home! When did David lust? (2 Sam.11:2-3)

Vs. 3, “I will set nothing wicked before my eyes.” 1 John 2:15-16 Matt. 6:22-23

Vs. 3, “I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall NOT cling to me.” Pick your associates carefully 1 Thess. 5:22, Rom. 12:9, Psalm 97:10 2 Cor. 6:14

Vs. 4, “A perverse heart shall depart from me, I will not know wickedness.” Determination to avoid wickedness at all costs, cf. Mat. 16:23, 4:10 Psalm 119:115

11 David’s Associates Vs. 5-8, David’s Associates
Associates include friends & family, his administration and those with whom he conducted business. 1 Cor. 15:33 How do we know who we should associate with? Consider this psalm!

12 David’s Associates Vs. 5, “Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, Him I will destroy.” Have nothing to do with the gossip! 2 Thess. 3:11, Prov. 20:19, James 4:11

13 David’s Associates Vs. 5, “The one who has a haughty look and a proud heart, him I will not endure.” Pride is a grave danger! James 4:6, Rom. 12:16

14 David’s Associates Vs. 6, “My eyes shall be on the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me.” Just as we avoid the ungodly, we seek out the godly to associate with – Psa. 15:4, cf.1 Thess. 5:12

15 David’s Associates Vs. 6, “He who walks in a perfect way, He shall serve me.” “blameless” – same word as vs. 2 David CHOOSES who will be around him and work with him.

16 David’s Associates Vs. 7, “He who works deceit shall not dwell within my house.” HONESTY! Needed everywhere. IF your associates are dishonest with others, will they be honest with you? Prov. 29:12, 6:16-19

17 David’s Associates Vs. 7, “He who tells lies shall not continue in my presence.” Honesty illustrated! See Rev. 21:8, Eph. 5:25, “Therefore, putting away lying, ‘Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor.’”

18 David’s Associates Vs. 8, “Early I will destroy all the wicked of the land, that I may cut off all the evildoers from the city of the Lord.” Take care of ungodliness quickly! Rom. 6:12

19 David’s Associates Vs. 8, “Every morning I will destroy all the wicked of the land, NASU “Morning by morning I will destroy…” ESV Something addresses often and constantly

20 Am I behaving wisely? What about my associates?
