2. Configuration Console
The Configuration Console is the place where a data mart is configured, services are monitored, company status is evaluated and logs are accessed.
The only person who can access the Configuration Console is the person who installed the product. Normally this is an Administrator type account.

3. Services – Application and Process Service
You can start, stop and restart from the Configuration Console.
They should be configured to be Automatic with Delayed Start.

4. Change tracking must be enabled and configured in the AX database in order for the data to transfer from AX to MR.
Data elements are updated every 5 minutes. If a new dimension is added, expect that you will see it within that duration.
The facts (gl transactions) are supposed to go every minute, however you should allow 2 before you generate the report and expect to see new data in reports.

5. New Data Mart will need to be created if you find that MR is not in balance.
This can happen if SQL server drops, has a dead lock any other scenario that causes the change tracking not to get data from the AX db to the MR db.

Make sure you notice the Task List. It often hides in the lower right hand corner and can give you valuable information.

6. When you install MR, you will be prompted to add a password to encrypt the database. You will want to note this password and keep it as you will need it if you move the database to a new server.

8. To get a backup of the report components without involving IT, you can go to Company > Building Block Groups > Export. Select All on each tab and save to a location you can remember.

This is used to determine which total the variance percentages will be used. For examples, if you set your percentage based on Total Sales/Revenue, then that would be your CRB. It is normally set on the first row.
