14. P.A.T.H. (Partnership, Accountability, Training, Hope)
SWES partners with lead organization Development Centers and Detroit Economic Solutions to increase the employability skills of TANF participants, support individuals’ placement and retention and support them to move towards self-sufficiency.

15. ProsperUS
ProsperUS Detroit is an economic revitalization strategy for low- to moderate-income, minority and immigrant communities which provides small business development in targeted neighborhoods including Southwest, North End/Central Woodward, Cody Rouge, Lower East Side and Grandmont/Rosedale. Services include:
Business planning training
Technical assistance
Micro-lending

16. Learning Lab- College and career readiness center
Two labs located in southwest Detroit offers free classes and tutoring in math, reading, writing, computer skills, HSE prep, ESL and transitioning to college.

17. So what does this mean?
Everyone gets the full program regardless of entry. We try to eliminate all barriers. It is the philosophy of serving the whole person.
This allows us to provide IET & IELCE services:
In adult basic literacy and HSE
In workforce preparation-Employability Skills, contextualized materials, Career Planning, and transitions to post-secondary
Workforce Training-Finding companies who need workers and how we can provide training
Workplace Literacy-Being on-site for education and employment training

19. How can programs have the career pathway requirement?
While we are not a school district, we do receive WIOA funds. Additional grants because we have the all inclusive allows us to partner with other agencies to provide the services. But all have limitations! Think about:
College and Career Plan in addition to the ALP
Contextualized materials
Employability module included in all classes
Support in Financial/Personal Finances
While we are a school-we also need to think College and Career Readiness-Center!
