What is a Christian? A title given to one who follows Christ.
Acts 11:26 A “disciple” is one who follows a person or a cause. One who leaves all, to follow Christ (Matthew 16:24-26) Acts 22:4-5 Those of “the Way” in v. 4 is referring to men and women who followed Christ.

A Holy Person Holy= set apart.
One who is different than those of the world. 1 Peter 4:1-4 We live by the SPIRIT and not according to the flesh. Romans 8:5-9, 12-14 We’ve taken off the old man and have become new creatures. Ephesians 4:22-32

A Holy Person Imperfect people who sin but do not continue in sin.
1 John 1:5-9 There is a difference between one who sins and one who practices sin. 1 John 3:6-8 Jesus offers forgiveness of our sins. 1 John 1:9

One Who Preaches the Gospel
Our responsibility to preach: Mark 16:15-16 The Gospel brings salvation. Romans 1:16 Paul commends the Christians at Thessalonica for spreading the Gospel. 1 Thessalonians 1:6-8

One Who Preaches the Gospel
Christians should be apt to teach. 2 Timothy 2:24 Requires knowledge of Scripture. Requires personal study. We all have different abilities. We should learn from the example of the Israelites. Hosea 4:6

One Who Has Received Forgiveness of Sins
Christ condemned the Old Law and made a new covenant with us. Romans 8:1-3 We are liberated from our sin and made slaves to Christ. 1 Corinthians 7:22-23 Even though we were sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 We receive eternal salvation by the blood of Christ. Hebrews 9:13-15

Conclusion “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me…” Galatians 2:20
