Sometimes considered a religion Exists in much of East Asia

Elderly are considered to be superiors Age difference is acknowledged

5 Confucianism in Korean Culture
Oldest person is expected to pay in a restaurant Youngest is expected to pour beer, serve the food, and make sure everyone is ok No greater disrespect than disobeying their fathers

6 Korean Marriage Union between a man and a woman
Man over 18 and woman over 15 can marry with parents’ permission Over 20 can marry freely

7 Korean Weddings Traditional Korean weddings include special clothing worn by bride and groom called Hanbok (한복) Choice of “Western” style clothing (tuxedo and white dress) or Hanbok

8 Hanbok (한복) A type of traditional Korean clothing made from silk
Nowadays, only worn during national holidays or weddings

9 Hanbok (한복) Vibrant colors Custom-made or rented/borrowed
Used to be complicated, but simplified now

10 Hanbok (한복) Simplified Hanbok for men: Simplified Hanbok for women:
Jeogori (저고리) or Magoja (마고자), with a Durumagi (두루마기) overcoat Simplified Hanbok for women: Jeogori (저고리), a skirt, and undergarments

11 Daily Expression!  “Back to square one.” Example: The test failed, so now we’re back to square one.
