Home School Communication Book
This is a very useful resource for both your child and yourself. A new page should be started each week to enable us to track your child’s reading and communication between parents and teachers. Please take time to explore the resources we have prepared for you. These will be sent home every day and should return to school the following day.
6
Home School Communication Book
Can we also please remind you to sign this page in the HSBC. Class teachers have read through the expectations of the children, parents and teachers and they should have it all signed along with the class teacher. This will further help us throughout the year.

Parent/Teacher comment
We recommend that your child reads every night for at least 5 minutes. Adult must sign or comment to confirm this. Use the question starters in the HSCB when talking to your child about the book. Reading Date Book Title/ Page No Parent/Teacher comment 13/09/15 Little Red Riding Hood pg 3-6 Struggled with words – wolf, little and forest. 14/09/15 Little Red Riding Hood pg 7-10 Used different voices for characters.

Homework Homework will be set every Thursday. You can check Orizon for the weekly schedule and some additional resources. Complete in HOMEWORK COPY BOOK only. Return the following Tuesday. Books will be marked and sent home again by Thursday. All homework and projects should be the child’s work.
9
Times Table Challenge Due to the success of the Times Table Challenge, we will continue with it this year. Children must learn multiplication AND division facts. E.g 10 x 2 = ÷ 2 = 10 Children will only move on when they have scored 20/20 three times. This is to ensure consolidation of multiplication and division facts.
10
Spellings In addition to the weekly spellings, all children should be revising the spellings listed at the back of their HSCB.
11
Clothing Please ensure your child’s clothing and lunchbox are labelled clearly with their name and class.
12
Healthy Lunch At I.C.S we have a healthy eating policy. We hope you can help us to follow this policy. Just to remind you, the following foods are not allowed: chips, chocolate, fizzy drinks and sweets.
13
Copy Books All copy books will be sent home every Thursday
Already we have had some children forgetting to return their books on Sunday morning or taking them home on other days of the week which is not allowed. Please support us with this strategy.

We look forward to working with you and your children this year
