1 When the day of Pentecost had arrived, they were all together in one place.
Suddenly a sound like that of a violent rushing wind  came from heaven, and it filled the whole house where they were staying.  3 And tongues, like flames of fire that were divided, appeared to them and rested on each one of them.  4 Then they were all filled  with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different languages, as the Spirit gave them ability for speech. Acts 2:1-4

Acts 2:5-12

42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching,  to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to the prayers.  43 Then fear came over everyone, and many wonders and signs were being performed through the apostles. 44 Now all the believers were together and held all things in common.   45 They sold their possessions and property and distributed the proceeds to all, as anyone had a need.   46 Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple complex, and broke bread from house to house. They ate their food with a joyful and humble attitude, 47praising God and having favor with all the people. And every day the Lord added to them  those who were being saved.  Acts 2:42-47

We serve others (gave to anyone as they had need) We tell others (about Jesus) (every day the Lord added to their number) We connect with our (spiritual) family (they devoted themselves to the fellowship) We grow in our loyalty to Christ (they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching) We worship God (praising God, meeting together in the Temple complex)

Jesus the Servant (John 13:1-15)

Jesus the Servant (John 13:1-15)
So Jesus got up from supper, laid aside His robe, took a towel, and tied it around Himself. Next, He poured water into a basin and began to wash His disciples’ feet and to dry them with the towel tied around Him. John 13:4-5

Jesus the Servant (John 13:1-15)
When Jesus had washed their feet and put on His robe, he reclined again and said to them, “Do you understand what I have done for you? You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.” John 13:12-15

“You know that the rulers of the Gentiles dominate them, and the men of high position exercise power over them. It must not be like that among you. On the contrary, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,  and whoever wants to be first among you must be your slave; just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve,  and to give His life – a ransom for many.”  Matthew 20:25-28

For you were called  to be free, brothers; only don’t use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love. For the entire law is fulfilled  in one statement: Love your neighbor as yourself.  Galatians 5:13-14

For you were called  to be free (from worrying about a long list of do’s and don’t’s…); only don’t use this freedom as an opportunity (to do whatever you want; there are still rules), but serve one another through love. For the entire law is fulfilled in one statement: Love your neighbor as yourself.  Galatians 5:13-14
