What is Remembrance Day?
Remembrance Day, sometimes called Armistice Day is always held on the second Sunday of November. It is a very special day where we remember all the men and women who have been injured or gave their lives during the two world wars and other conflicts past and present. On this day at 11o’clock in the morning all across Britain a two minutes silence is held to remember them. Freddie reads…………What is Remembrance Day……….

When we wear a Poppy Every November we wear a red poppy as a symbol of that remembrance and to help raise money not just for those who were injured or who gave their lives but also to help their families. Olivia reads……When we wear a poppy………

Why poppies? In the first world war people fought and died in the fields of Northern France. The following spring, in the fields where the fighting had taken place, millions and millions of red poppies had grown and so the poppy was chosen as the symbol of remembrance Billy Why poppies…………… .
