WHAT IS A WETLAND? A WETLAND IS A LOCATION ON THE EARTH THAT HAS WATER IN OR ON THE SURFACE OF THE SOIL FOR ALL OR PART OF THE YEAR.

WETLANDS ARE DIFFERENT BECAUSE OF WHAT LIVES THERE
WETLANDS USUALLY HAVE SPECIAL TYPES OF PLANTS AND ANIMALS THAT LIVE IN THEM. SOME OF THESE MAY BE FOUND ONLY IN THAT SPECIAL KIND OF WETLAND.

WETLANDS ARE FOUND ALL OVER THE WORLD. MICHIGAN HAS SEVERAL DIFFERENT TYPES OF WETLANDS, INCLUDING BOGS, FENS, SWAMPS AND MARSHES.
