3. Class Work Choose 5-10 symbols from the OS map.
Write a short story ( words) – see example above
Instead of using words use symbols instead and leave a space beside the symbol for the meaning. You can then swap with a friend when they have done theirs.

4. Homework
Draw a map of an island or town. Use at least 15 different symbols. Name your towns, villages and other main features. Use at least 10 proper OS map symbols and 5 of your own.
Make sure you include a key!
Make sure your map has STACK
Then learn the most common symbols on your OS key.
