3 PENGUJIAN KEKERASAN (HARDNESS)
Bertujuan untuk menentukan kekerasan bahan hasil dari heat treatment atau proses lainnya dengan metode resistance to penetration.

4 BRINELL TESTER Using hardened spherical ball (d=10 mm), forced into the surface with 3000 kg pressure for ferrous metals (pressure 10 s) and 500 kg pressure (pressure 30 s) for non- ferrous metals. Load from hydraulic pressure, built up by handpump or an electric motor. Calibrated microscope for measuring the impact diameter Read the result and compared it with Brinell hardness number

5 ROCKWELL TESTER Using hardened steel ball and diamond cone as a penetrator, with force called major load Read the result by measuring the depth. Matched the depth with dial that attached on the machine. Outer circle dial numbers are black, inner numbers are red. Compare the result between minor loads and major loads. Greater gap = lower hardness = softer
