Daily Life of the Cherokee
They Cherokee grew crops and hunted animals for food. Corn was their most popular crop. During the day women harvested the crops and men went into the woods to hunt animals. The Cherokee people usually lived close to rivers. The only mode of transportation for the early Cherokee tribes was the canoe.

Cherokee Clothing The men wore leggings and breechcloths.
The women wore wraparound skirts with poncho style shirts that were made from deerskin. Moccasins were worn by both men and women. Cherokee women wore their hair long and only cut it when mourning a lost one.

Cherokee Children Cherokee children did a lot of things that the older adults did. Some of these activities include: hunting fishing gathering berries telling stories singing songs playing with their dolls
