3 Important info that may save your life!
Use one side of the card only. Exhibit A: This is only one side

4 Write the letter of the source in the upper left corner.
Please include the page number of where you found the information on the bottom right corner. Put a subtitle in the top center of your card. Exhibit B: Tada! A Biographical Pg. 42

7 3 Techniques in Note Taking
Are you ready?

8 Paraphrasing Rewriting what the author said.
Think of it as translating. **Use with specific details. **Length should be the same as the author’s. Bonjour! Hello!

9 Summary Putting the author’s ideas into your own words.
Moving what the author said … … And taking it in your direction. **Summarize a page or a paragraph. **Write only the main ideas.

10 Quotation Copying the exact words of the author.
**Length and punctuation are exactly the same. **Use “quotation marks.” **Use quotations sparingly! Only if something is worded perfectly to emphasize a point.

12 Label each card with a different letter in the upper right hand corner.
Your first source should be labeled “A,” second source labeled “B,” etc. Exhibit D: A
