2 Washington Monument The Washington Monument is an obelisk on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. built to commemorate George Washington, once commander-in-chief of the Continental Army and the first American president is both the world's tallest stone structure and the world's tallest obelisk (  m)

3 Statue of Liberty The Statue of Liberty is a colossal neoclassical sculpture on Liberty Island in New York Harbor in New York City, in the United States It was a gift to the United States from the people of France The statue is of a robed female figure representing Libertas, the Roman goddess, who bears a torch and a tablet evoking the law upon which is inscribed the date of the American Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776 The statue is an icon of freedom and of the United States, and was a welcoming sight to immigrants arriving from abroad.

4 The American Flag It consists of thirteen equal horizontal stripes of red alternating with white, with a blue rectangle in the canton bearing fifty small, white, five-pointed stars  The 50 stars on the flag represent the 50 states of the United States of America the 13 stripes represent the thirteen British colonies that declared independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain, and became the first states in the US Nicknames for the flag include The Stars and Stripes

5 Lincoln Monument American national monument built to honor the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln It is located in Washington, D.C., across from the Washington Monument A. Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation that declared forever free slaves

6 Liberty Bell an iconic symbol of American independence, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania It was rung on July 8, 1776 to proclaim the independence of USA from England It cracked in 1835

7 Bald Eagle The symbol bird of the USA
Represents the traits of courage, independence and strength
