Review past and present tense as well as samples of irregular verbs. Call on students to fill in the blank with an appropriate irregular verb. Have students work with a partner to write 5 effects for given causes and 1 cause for a given effect. Call on partners to share at least one of their responses. C1, C2,C3, C4 Skill: Cause and Effect Elf on the Shelf visited Germany Students read the passage and collect 3 facts for Santa. Read aloud the Christmas version of If You Give a Mouse…Point out all of the cause and effect examples. Have students work independently to create their own version writing If You Give a Reindeer a _____ by filling in the blank. Allow students an opportunity to share.
