Warm-up (Oct 9 and 10) Homework Day 12 (Book work and Lab 3 questions) out on desk, please Make sure your group results are in the shared Google Sheet! THINK with your group: What are at least THREE examples of gas laws in your “real life”??
2
Lab 3 Debrief! Shared Group Spreadsheet – what did we find?
3
Wrap up Lab 3 Part 1: What is pressure?
Collisions with a container = gas pressure Speed of gas molecules = temperature The more collisions, the higher the pressure! What are ways you can make more collisions? Less collisions? Ping pong balls demo – have them explain how more molecules and higher temperature affect pressure
4
What is pressure?
5
Gas Pressure in Real Life!
Look at the picture of changing pressure at different altitudes. Explain why the pressure lowers as you go up in altitude. The air in an airplane is “pressurized” when it is at its cruising altitude of ~35,000 ft. Why?
6
Can Crush Demo – can you explain it now???
Equilibrium = Have kids draw on boards? IF TIME
7
Homework discussion? 39, 40, 44 from book
8
Lab 3 Part 2 – Volume relationships (M/T)
BE CAREFUL WITH MY SYRINGES – do not pull them out EVER! Collect data in a clear table – 3 trials of each! Demo: Tube and water (or straw) – could have them investigate that
9
Graphing work time! Input your data for all experiments in a Google Sheet and follow the directions on the sheet for graphs. This is 100% on your own – do NOT share with your group-mates, I want YOU to know how to do everything on your own!
10
Homework Day 13 (M/T) Finish Lab 3 Graphs (3 total) and questions from Day 2 - all in lab book Read pages in your textbook! (Great explanations and pictures) Keep working on elements, sig figs, scientific notation, etc, according to how you did on the quiz! Test next Thursday/Friday (October 19/20)
