Existing legislation relevant to CSR
“Corporate Governance Law” (Ministries of Finance & Development), the opportunity for listed companies to have among the board members elected independent non executive members & compulsory training internal rules of operation “Social Entrepreneurship Law” (Ministries of Labour and Social Security & Development), supporting the establishment of companies promoting social and economic inclusion of “marginal” social groups, local development, employment of disadvantaged segments of labour force etc. “Green Public Procurement” (Ministries of Environment, Energy and Climate Change & Development), related to preparatory activities for the development of a national roadmap on Green Public Procurement “Law on Equal Treatment” (Ministry of Labour and Social Security), fostering equal treatment in employment and occupation and eliminating discrimination.

Other national & co-financed programs/ initiatives relevant to CSR
Ministry of Development and Competitiveness "Development of Human Resources ” implementation of subsidized training courses for employees and self-employed businesses in all sectors of the economy with emphasis on CSR & Social Economy “New Innovative Entrepreneurship” on the provision of financial incentives for young entrepreneurs involved in the commercial exploitation of highly innovative concepts. “Green Enterprise” on the provision of financial incentives to companies for improving their environmental performance. “Green Tourism” on the provision of financial incentives to companies operating in the tourism sector for incorporating environment-friendly processes and developing environment-friendly infrastructure

Current stage of development
Initiative / Lead undertaken by Ministry of Development Establishment of a Working Group. Representatives from: Government: Commerce Consumer Labour, Social Security & Welfare Environment & Climate Change Established Greek Private Initiatives (Hellenic Network for CSR) Academia (Athens University of Economics and Business) A draft strategy to be developed by the end of this year based on the EU “Europe 2020” strategy and on the National 2020 Vision Consultation with all stakeholders
