Infects domesticated animals or humans
Goat
Horses
wild boar
domesticated pigs
Causes pneumonia in foals (young horses)
Infections can get as high as 60%

Route of infection is via inhalation of contaminated dust particles
Virulence-
phagocytosed by alveolar macrophages
Use plasmids and results in tissue damage
At risk groups are immune-compromised people i.e. people with HIV or have had a transplant.
Symptoms resemble those of pulmonary tuberculosis.
