The Latin word sacramentum means "a sign of the sacred."
The seven sacraments are ceremonies that point to what is sacred, significant and important for Christians.
They are special occasions for experiencing God's saving presence.

11. 6. Holy Orders
A person becomes a priest to lead other Catholics by bringing them the sacraments (especially the Eucharist), by proclaiming the Gospel, and by providing other means to holiness.
