Flood is a large amount of water which covers a place that usually dry land.

Types of floods:

Riverine floods are caused by heavy rainfalls or rapid snow melt.

Estuarine floods are commonly caused by storms or cyclones

Coastal floods are caused by severe sea storms or as a result of tsunami or hurricane
7
Catastrophic floods are caused by unexpected events: earthquake or volcanic eruption

Floods occur if a lot of water comes to a place very quickly and cannot leave it rapidly
