2. Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth.
O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations, Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.

3. Literal meaning Where? Matthew 23 – In Jerusalem, in the Temple
When? During the last week of his life – after arguing with Pharisees
What? Teaching of warning against the scribes and Pharisees
Who? Jesus, the people and his disciples
How? Warning and moral teaching about discipleship
Why? Jesus reminds disciples of the unique authority of God over all

4. Humility and Truth Chair of Moses – the humblest man
Speaking and doing – blindness and will to power
The burden of priestly purity imposed on everyone – inner purity
Appearances and reality – intentions behind actions
What authority do you accept, follow, and live by, and why?

Finding God
The humbled raised up
The greatest who is the servant
The Christ
Rabbi, Father, Teacher
Giver of the easy yoke
Does what he says

6. Finding the human person
The burden of self-justification
The yoke of discipleship
Who is God in my life? Who do I follow?
Who can tell the truth?
All disciples of one Master, one Father, one Teacher
We need to be taught, loved and guided
Accepting the truth in humility and ‘doing’ the truth

7. Finding the Church The community of disciples
The community of brothers and sisters
The community of servants
Receives all truth from God
Introduces humanity to the Teaching, Fatherhood and Life of God

9. Mary, Virgin and Mother,
you who, moved by the Holy Spirit,
welcomed the word of life
in the depths of your humble faith:
as you gave yourself completely to the Eternal One,
help us to say our own “yes”
to the urgent call, as pressing as ever,
to proclaim the good news of Jesus.
Mother of the living Gospel,
wellspring of happiness for God’s little ones,
pray for us.
