Who is setting the group up?
The group is being set-up by the Maternal and Fetal Health Research Centre (MFHRC) based at St Mary’s Hospital in Manchester. The MFHRC is being supported by the Public Programmes Team, who specialise in ensuring people and patients are involved and engaged in research.
Why has the group been set-up?
To group is needed to ensure the research conducted by the Maternal and Fetal Health Research Centre is relevant and focused on the needs of patients.
What is involved?
Group members will be invited to get involved with a variety of research projects via face-to-face meetings and/or online. Activities could include: discussing whether a research project is important, giving feedback on the way a researcher has designed a study, or acting as a co-researcher. No experience is necessary as training will be provided if needed. Meetings will take place approximately every 3 months with online activities happening between meetings.
Who can be part of the group?
Anyone who lives in Greater Manchester with experience of pregnancy, either healthy or with complications, can join the group.
We welcome people from all ages, genders and backgrounds. You do not need any research experience, and you do not need to have been a patient at St Marys.
