Draw the Lewis Structures for each Determine the charge of your ions Li +1 O -2 3. Criss-Cross the charges to count number of atoms needed Li +1 O -2 = Li2O This is the formula for the compound made during the bond. The 2 tells you that you need TWO atoms of lithium to complete the bond
