2
Gathering Around the WORD Call To Worship (Based on Psalm 81:1)
Sing aloud to God our strength. Shout for joy to the Lord of Life. Blessed be the one, holy, and living God. Glory to God in the highest. Come, let us worship God.
3
Gathering Hymn # 761 “Called as Partners to Christ’s Service”
Called as partners in Christ’s service, called to ministries of grace, we respond with deep commitment fresh new lines of faith to trace. May we learn the art of sharing, side by side and friend with friend, equal partners in our caring to fulfill God’s chosen end.
4
Gathering Hymn # 761 “Called as Partners to Christ’s Service”
Christ’s example, Christ’s inspiring, Christ’s clear call to work and worth, let us follow, never faltering, reconciling folk on earth. Men and women, richer, poorer, all God’s people, young and old, blending human skills together gracious gifts from God unfold.
5
Gathering Hymn # 761 “Called as Partners to Christ’s Service”
Thus new patterns for Christ’s mission, in a small or global sense, help us bear each other’s burdens, breaking down each wall or fence. Words of comfort, words of vision, words of challenge, said with care, bring new power and strength for action, make us colleagues, free and fair.
6
Gathering Hymn # 761 “Called as Partners to Christ’s Service”
So God grant us for tomorrow ways to order human life that surround each person’s sorrow with a calm that conquers strife. Make us partners in our living, our compassion to increase, messengers of faith, thus giving hope and confidence and peace.
7
Gathering Around the WORD Call to Confession God delights in us when we honestly confess and repent from our hearts. In humility and faith, let us lift up our confession before God and our neighbors.
8
Gathering Around the WORD Prayer of Confession (in unison) Psalm 139:1-6, (To Be Read Responsively) 1O LORD, you have searched me and known me. 2You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from far away. 3You search out my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. 4Even before a word is on my tongue, O LORD, you know it completely.
9
Gathering Around the WORD Prayer of Confession (in unison) Psalm 139:1-6, (To Be Read Responsively) 5You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me. 6Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is so high that I cannot attain it. 13For it was you who formed my inward parts; you knit me together in my mother's womb. 14I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; that I know very well.
10
Gathering Around the WORD Prayer of Confession (in unison) Psalm 139:1-6, (To Be Read Responsively) 15My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. 16Your eyes beheld my unformed substance. In your book were written all the days that were formed for me, when none of them as yet existed.
11
Gathering Around the WORD Prayer of Confession (in unison) Psalm 139:1-6, (To Be Read Responsively) 17How weighty to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! 18I try to count them. They are more than the sand; I come to the end. I am still with you.
12
Gathering Around the WORD Declaraion of Forgivness Hear the Good News
Gathering Around the WORD Declaraion of Forgivness Hear the Good News. If anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation; everything old has passed away; everything has become new. Sisters and brothers, through Christ, your sin is forgiven, your life is made new. Thanks be to God, Amen.
13

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen.
14
Gathering Around the WORD Passing of the Peace of Christ

Proclaiming the WORD Message to the Youth/ Prayer of Illumination
16
Proclaiming the WORD Scripture Reading (Jeremiah 18:1-11)
1The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD: 2"Come, go down to the potter's house, and there I will let you hear my words." 3So I went down to the potter's house, and there he was working at his wheel. 4The vessel he was making of clay was spoiled in the potter's hand, and he reworked it into another vessel, as seemed good to him.
17
Proclaiming the WORD Scripture Reading (Jeremiah 18:1-11)
5Then the word of the LORD came to me: 6Can I not do with you, O house of Israel, just as this potter has done? says the LORD. Just like the clay in the potter's hand, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel. 7At one moment I may declare concerning a nation or a kingdom, that I will pluck up and break down and destroy it, 8but if that nation, concerning which I have spoken, turns from its evil, I will change my mind about the disaster that I intended to bring on it.
18
Proclaiming the WORD Scripture Reading (Jeremiah 18:1-11)
9And at another moment I may declare concerning a nation or a kingdom that I will build and plant it, 10but if it does evil in my sight, not listening to my voice, then I will change my mind about the good that I had intended to do to it. 11Now, therefore, say to the people of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: Thus says the LORD: Look, I am a potter shaping evil against you and devising a plan against you. Turn now, all of you from your evil way, and amend your ways and your doings.

We eat and drink, receiving from Christ the grace we need, and in our hearts believing on him by faith we feed; with wonder and thanksgiving for love that knows no end, we find in Jesus living our ever-present friend.

One bread is ours for sharing, one single fruitful vine, our fellowship declaring renewed in bread and wine: renewed, sustained, and given by token, sign, and word, the pledge and seal of heaven, the love of Christ our Lord.

Bearing and Following the WORD into the World Holy Communion
Friends, we have indeed gathered from East and West, from North to South, joined around at this table of GRACE. Here we celebrate God's presence among us, united in Christ's spirit, broken and whole all at once. Here at the feast of God’s holy word and holy meal, eyes and ears are opened so that we may all be made glad and filled with hope.
34
Bearing and Following the WORD into the World Holy Communion
Through God’s reconciling love and unconditional grace, transformation takes place around this table, where strangers become friends, sinners redeemed, brokenness restored and wounded healed. Welcome to the table of the Heavenly Feast, the joyful celebration of the people of God. Christ invites those who confess their faith and baptized in Him to eat the bread of life and to drink the cup of the new covenant.
35
Bearing and Following the WORD into the World Holy Communion
The Lord be with you. And also with you. Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give our thanks and praise. By your life-giving Spirit, you have renewed us and re-created us. We’ve called upon your name and you’ve heard us.
36
Bearing and Following the WORD into the World Holy Communion
Therefore we join our voices with saints and angels and all the faithful of every time and place singing: Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of power and might, Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
37
Bearing and Following the WORD into the World Holy Communion
We give you thanks that you have made us one with our Lord Jesus Christ as he is one with you and the Holy Spirit.
38
Bearing and Following the WORD into the World Holy Communion
With thanksgiving, we will receive this bread which our Lord Jesus took, after He blessed it, broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, take, eat, this is my body, given for you. With confidence, we dedicate this cup that Jesus blessed and poured out for us, saying, this is the new covenant sealed in my blood. Do this, remembering me.
39
Bearing and Following the WORD into the World Holy Communion
With thanks and praise we offer ourselves to you, O God. Sharing this holy meal, remembering Christ’s dying and rising, and praying: Come Lord Jesus! Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again. Jesus said, "I am the bread of life. They who come to me shall never hunger; they who believe in me shall never thirst." These are the gift of God for the people of God.
40
Bearing and Following the WORD into the World Holy Communion
Prayer after Communion Lord Jesus Christ, in Spirit you have fed us with your body and quenched us with your blood. We look forward to the day when you shall come again to fill our hearts with grace, peace and hope. Enable us now to go out to share your love to others. Humble our hearts so we may serve others, as you have served us through your Son Jesus Christ. Through Christ, with Christ, in Christ, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor are yours, Almighty God, now and forever, Amen.
