Implications for mentors at Kent

2. Fellowship recognition (1)
Kent programmes previously recognised by HEA as conferring eligibility for HEA Fellowship/Associate Fellowship
Re-accreditation applied for in April 2015,based on latest (2012) version of UKPSF
We are now able to make Fellowship decisions ourselves, based on 4 criteria

3. Criteria
Evident institutional commitment to embedding UKPSF to promote professional development of all staff who teach and support learning
Our provision is fully aligned with the UKPSF
Participants fully engage with UKPSF and can evidence this
HEA Fellowship recognition decisions made, based on that evidence, are robust

4. Academic Practice Team
We will continue to teach, give tutorial support and feedback to participants exactly as we have always done
Participants will, as at present, receive a results transcript showing the credits achieved each academic year

5. What is changing
ATAP is replaced by an Associate Fellowship Scheme for teachers with direct teaching eg leading seminars, workshops, conversation classes.
Content: UN819 + UN820, as at present i.e. the two core modules of the PGCHE
To pass, everyone needs to hand in coursework which reaches the required standard and two teaching observations

6. Important: this means you!
All participants need to submit evidence to us that they have been observed twice: once by their School mentor and once by a tutor from the AP Team.
We would appreciate it if you could use this observation form which has been mapped to the UKPSF, as it helps us form a judgement about a claim for Associate Fellowship/Fellowship.
