International Coordination on Capacity Building, Training and Meetings
Several parallel efforts ongoing internationally on the capacity building, training activities and meetings across the globe. GOFC-START (eg: Data initiative) NASA SERVIR SARI-NIES (Jaxa) Silvacarbon Future Earth Food-Energy Water Nexus (IDS-Dr. Qi) GISTDA, ISRO How can we collaborate to reduce parallel efforts and join hands to get maximum benefit w.r.t. funding, participation and sharing of resources.
2
Collaborating with multiple programs is challenging
Each program have their own Target audience Funding mechanisms (thus outputs based on funder requests) Time schedules for deliverables Thematic focus (different across programs) Ownership / labelling
3
Joining hands has huge benefit!
LCLUC SARI International Regional Science Meeting in South/Southeast Asia, July, 2017 3-day meeting (165 Participants) + 3-day training (100-participants) +2-day field trip (25-participants)
