5. Did you know… You, the students, have significant power to stop bullying? When bystanders intervene, bullying stops within 10 seconds 57% of the time.

6. If you see someone being targeted…
Stand with the victim and talk directly to them. As others step away, step toward them. Say something like, “Let’s get out of here,” and offer help.
Provide support. Tell him or her you are sorry and you don’t agree.
Don’t laugh, snicker or point.

7. If you see someone being targeted…
Tell other bystanders not to join the bullying. You can encourage others to do the right thing.
Walk with them in the hallway, offer to be their partner in class or offer a seat at your lunch table.
Encourage them to tell an adult and offer to go with them.

8. Even a small gesture of kindness can be a lifeline for someone feeling like a target or an outsider.
