Korea Analytical won 1st Continuous Emission Monitoring System (CEMS) Order for Marine Applications!
CUSTOMER Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) - Project: Total Clov’s FPSO (Floating, Production, Storage & Offloading) CHALLENGE - Emissions from FPSOs are an environmental concern. DSME needed to monitor emissions from the FPSO unit in order to comply with International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) standard. - Customer wanted an ATEX certified CEMS. APPLICATION Continuous emission monitoring analysis of emission from FPSO unit. SOLUTIONS/SCOPE - 1 unit of X-Stream process gas analyzer (XEFD) for NOx / CO / SO2 with streams of Sample Handling System. 1 unit of Net Safety Monitoring gas detector for unburned Hydrocarbon. These instruments are installed in a 316 Stainless Steel cabinet. BENEFITS Improves the operational performance of the FPSO and meets regulatory compliance. - Real-time emissions measurement of the content of exhaust gases. Korea Analytical selected to supply Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) with Continuous Emission Monitoring Solutions Korea Analytical has secured an order to provide a reliable ATEX certified Continuous Emission Monitoring system (CEMS) to Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) for monitoring of emissions from the floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit. Thanks to the “Discover Your Total Solution” seminar held in April 2011 by Emerson Korea to customers in the marine industry. The seminar was a good opportunity for our Korea Analytical Sales to share about the Emerson complete CEMS solutions to customers including DSME. After the seminar, the Korea Analytical Sales followed up with DSME and proposed the Emerson CEMS solutions that not only met DSME’s request for ATEX’s approval but provide emission monitoring to comply with International Maritime Organization’s standard.
