1 Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences:
MATHEMATICAL/ LOGICAL INTELLIGENCE NATURALISTIC INTELLIGENCE INTERPERSONAL INTELLIGENCE By: Niyati Shah, Siddhi Londhe, Smruti Shah

2 INTRODUCTION Dr. Howard Gardner developed theory of Multiple Intelligence (MI) in 1983. According to Howard Gardner, human beings have nine different intelligence that reflect different ways of interacting with world. Howard Gardner's conception of individual competence has changed the face of education in the twenty-three years since the publication of Frames of Mind.

3 INTRODUCTION According to Howard Gardner, intelligence is:
The ability to create an effective product or offer a service that is valued in a culture; A set of skills that make it possible for a person to solve problems in life; The potential for finding or creating solutions for problems, which involves gathering new knowledge.

5 MATHEMATICAL/ LOGICAL INTELLIGENCE

6 MATHEMATICAL/LOGICAL INTELLIGENCE
According to Howard Gardner, Mathematical intelligence entails the ability to detect patterns, reason deductively and think logically. Logically/Mathematically intelligence of a person is clearly visible when they are in a situation which requires problem solving or meeting new challenge.

7 MATHEMATICAL/LOGICAL INTELLIGENCE
IMAGINE A SCENE How many times did Mathematical/logical Intelligence come into Operation?

8 Problem: Leaving tap Open, and realizing, solution needs to be prepared.
Calling only those members of family, who maybe at home at given time. Calculating the cost, adding and counting. Thought of keeping the amount ready, so as to be in hurry. Logically, she decided to inform her neighbour and request watchman. Approximating time she will require reaching home.

9 Logical and Rational Thinking, Making List,
Skills and Qualities Associated with Mathematical/Logical Intelligence include: Problem Solving, Logical and Rational Thinking, Making List, Detecting patterns and links, Making Flowcharts and Algorithms, Perform a mental mathematical calculations, Quick at counting and measuring, Like to categorize and organize, Reasoning Skills- Inductive and Deductive, Formulating Cause and Effect relationship, Playing chess, card games (which requires good pattern recognition, e.g. Solitaire), Maybe Stubborn/ Unwilling to compromise, Assess the value of business or a proposition

12 INTERPERSONAL INTELLIGENCE

13 INTERPERSONAL INTELLIGENCE
According to Howard, interpersonal intelligence is capacity to detect and respond appropriately to the moods, motivations and desires of others. Interpersonal intelligence can be observed clearly when a person has to be part of team effort.

14 How many times did Interpersonal Intelligence come into Operation?
IMAGINE A SCENE How many times did Interpersonal Intelligence come into Operation?

15 Seeing people moving back and Neha understood maybe train is approaching.
Talking to people about their destination. Requesting lady getting down at Bandra to provide her with seat. Agreeing for 4th Seat, knowing it will not be easy for her to have comfortable travelling. Understanding that lady who had inserted headphone was short tempered, hence deciding not get into argument. Hinting her to get ask ladies on other side, in a way her friend understood her non verbal clues and gestures.

19 NATURALISTIC INTELLIGENCE

20 NATURALISTIC INTELLIGENCE
According to his most recent studies, Gardner had identified the naturalist intelligence as the ability to recognize and make distinction about living things and artifacts, and to notice subtle abstract patterns or changes.
