What is Plickers? By the end of this presentation you will be able to:
Understand how to format questions in the Plickers App Understand how to utilize the features in the software Be able to leverage the technology in your classroom TODAY!
3
What is Plickers? What it is not…
Plickers is a classroom response app that will collect real-time formative assessment data, without the need to have a device for each student.
4
Website OPTIONAL CONTENT
1) Either create an account, or log into 2) Create a new class & name it. 3) Add students and assign them a card.
5
Website At the top of the page – look for the Library button.
Once in the library, you can create a new folder, upload questions from your mobile device, or the archives for older questions Once you are ready… click on the New Question button.
6
Website Add your question and your answers.
Put a check in the box to indicate the “correct” answer.
7
Website With your question created (and the correct answer indicated),
you will need to add it to a queue for your class. Once it has been added, you can rearrange questions in the queue to appear when you want them to.
8
iPad / Tablet Setup Log into the app using the username / password that you created for the website. As you can see here, it automatically populates the iPad with classes from the website
9
iPad / Tablet Setup Here is the question that was created.
10
iPad / Tablet Setup If you want to do this entirely through the app, that is possible too! Click on the Create button and you get this window. Enter your question and answer text and indicate which of the responses is correct.
11
iPad / Tablet Setup Once the question is created, you can load it up.
You can verbally announce the question, or set-up an outside source (like PowerPoint) with the question and answers being shown. When you’re ready – ask (or display) the question, push scan on the tablet… and scan the room!
12
iPad / Tablet Setup Instantly – you can start to see the results of your scan. Who has answered? Who answered correctly? What is the average percentage of correct answers? (Note: this takes into consideration lack of answers too) If you’ve specified your students – it keeps track of who answered which answer.
13
Card Number (Can be assigned to a student from the website) Response A, B, C, or D Hold it so that the letter of your response is pointed up.
