Do we think they were right to do what they have? How might Mr Reynold’s react if he knew?

WILF All of you will be able to identify the key features of a play script and choose appropriate speech for the main characters. Most of you will be able to add details about how the speech is said in a play script, placing these in brackets before the speech. Some of you will be able to give more detail about using stage directions and how the characters are expected to move, placing these in brackets also.

Look at the texts on your table- they are all scripts. What do you notice about them? How are they similar? Could you identify some of the key features of these?

Now that we have a better idea of what scripts should include, we are going to be writing our own script. The scenario: (you have a choice) You are up on the moor and just walking back to the village with the sick German bomber. You are nearly home until you meet Mr Reynolds! You manage to get back to the farm without being seen and walk into the kitchen. Mr Reynolds and Ann are sitting at the kitchen table and they need to talk!

The scenario: On your tables are some speech bubbles. With your partner suggest what the first two or three exchanges might be… You are up on the moor and just walking back to the village with the sick German bomber. You are nearly home until you meet Mr Reynolds! You manage to get back to the farm without being seen and walk into the kitchen. Mr Reynolds and Ann are sitting at the kitchen table and they need to talk!

The scenario: Bring your speech bubbles to the carpet- let’s have a look at starting our own play script using your ideas! You are up on the moor and just walking back to the village with the sick German bomber. You are nearly home until you meet Mr Reynolds! You manage to get back to the farm without being seen and walk into the kitchen. Mr Reynolds and Ann are sitting at the kitchen table and they need to talk!
