Reflexive (Present tense)
2
When you need to use the reflexive as an infinitive, you still need the infinitive to reflect the actor. I want to bathe. I want = yo quiero To bathe = bañarse But, it needs to reflect me. To bathe myself Yo quiero bañarme. You (s.fam) have to lie down. To have to = tener que to lie down = acostarse Tú tienes que acostarte.
3
Reflexive Verbs/Infinitives
There are two categories for all infinitives. There are reflexive and non-reflexive. Reflexive verbs have the actor doing action to self. Non-reflexive have the actor doing action to someone/ something else. Reflexives, in their simple form, have “se” in the ending. The are very easy to spot in a list.
4
Reflexive Verbs You may have noticed that some of the infinitives have been used before, but now have a “se” attached to them. lavarse = to wash self lavar = to wash (something else) I wash my hair. Actor doing action to self. I wash my clothing. Actor doing action to something else.
5
Reflexive Conjugations
You are not learning a new conjugation. The verbs are the same conjugation that they always have been. The reflexive pronouns will come directly in front of the conjugated verb to show on whom the action is reflected. You can attach them when an infinitive is present.
