2 PROGRAMS TLC Family Resource Center offers a wide-range of free programs to support the children and families in Sullivan and Lower Grafton counties, including: Child/Parent Psychotherapy Peer Parenting Groups Community Visiting Nurse Parenting Support Classes Family Support Services Rural Outright (LGBTQ+) Parent educating SHINE VISION Imagine a place where every child and every family enjoys economic, physical, social and spiritual security. TLC Family Resource Center seeks to make our community that place, the best place for families to raise a child. 4 VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
TLC Family Resource Center has several positions for volunteers, including: Office work, including the use of the computer and Word Receptionist Organizing / purging files Organizing emergency supplies, books and clothing for clients Maintaining play rooms and equipment Outreach — hanging up flyers around the communities we serve at designated locations; representing the agency at events; Assistance getting tent, table and chair(s) to events and setting it up / taking it down, etc. Resource gathering and sharing our information on other resource lists online (can be done remotely) Childcare for support groups and other events

5 CHILDREN’S THRIFT STORE
DUTIES Running the cash register Maintaining the store area Pricing then displaying items for sale Interacting with customers Answering phones / redirecting calls to staff Providing potential clients for the agency with print materials Training and ongoing support provided. Those with previous experience as a cashier or in a retail setting encouraged to apply. AVAILABLE HOURS Fridays: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (flexible) Saturdays: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. TLC Family Resource Center Children’s Thrift Store offers new and gently-used children’s clothing, books, toys and equipment at affordable prices. All proceeds support TLC Family Resource Center and the services our agency provides to local families. Shifts are between three to six hours. Our thrift store is run by volunteers, who are always needed to help in the thrift store as cashiers and organizing the many donations we receive. Volunteers are also needed when we do yard sales. Two volunteers in the children’s thrift store.

6 RURAL OUTRIGHT Rural Outright is one of the newest programs at TLC Family Resource Center. The program was created to provide support to LGBTQ+ youth and their families and allies in the Sullivan County. Some volunteer opportunities include: MISSION To support LGBTQIA* youth, their families, and allies; educate local community members; and increase public awareness of the need to value and respect everyone, regardless of gender identity, expression, or sexual orientation. VISION AND GOALS To build a local network serving LGBTQIA youth, their families, and allies in Sullivan County and neighboring towns; encourage community engagement; and advocate for equal treatment of LGBTQIA youth in rural areas. 9 We will review your application and check references.
Fill out the Volunteer Application and sign the Confidentiality Policy then return them to me. We will review your application and check references. If all looks good, we'll schedule an interview. If we choose you, we'll bring you in to fill out the background check paperwork and give you the Volunteer Handbook to review. If you pass the background check, we will call to schedule your first day and training. On the first day, bring in the signed form that says you read the Volunteer Handbook and be ready to learn. Please fill out the Volunteer Application and sign the Confidentiality Policy then return it to Neil Allen. We will review your application and call your references. If we think you would be a good fit with our organization, we will contact you for an interview with the position supervisor and volunteer coordinator. During the interview, we will talk about why you want to work with TLC Family Resource Center, discuss what work you would like to do with the organization as well as your available time, and answer any questions you might have about our organization. If all goes well, we’ll give you a call and schedule a time for you to come in to fill out the background check paperwork, pick up the Volunteer Handbook. If we get the all clear on your background check, we’ll discuss the work you would be doing with us and we’ll come to an agreement then determine your start date as well as your schedule. On the first day, you will bring the signed sheet declaring that you read the Volunteer Handbook. Training, if necessary, will be done on your first day by the position supervisor and/or the volunteer coordinator. You will also need to sign up with GiveGab, our volunteer management program, either on your own or using one of our computers. If you would prefer not to create an account there, we can create an account for you and enter your time.
