2. What corporate form?
GmbH (Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung) society with limited liability
GbR (Gesellschaft bürgerlichen Rechts) civil law association
UG (Unternehmensgesellschaft) entrepreneurial company
OHG (offene Handelsgesellschaft) general partnership
AG (Aktiengesellschaft) joint stock company

3. Authorities
Your business will have to be registered and certified with the community.
You need a membership in the IHK (Industrie- und Handelskammer) Chamber of industry and commerce
For some business you need approval by certain authorities e.g. for food you need to consult the public health department.

4. Financial Aspects
You will get financial support for production equipment only if the business is solid enough to survive three years.
This also applies to a bank loan.
You have to file an annual tax declaration and a balance-sheet.

5. Insurances Some insurances are mandatory:
- social security (unemployment, health, pension)
- depending on your kind of business some are necessary (inventory, loss of earnings), some are optional (accident insurance …)
