2 “REPENTANCE” Thayer: 1) to change one’s mind, i.e. to repent
2) to change one’s mind for better, heartily to amend with abhorrence of one’s past sins

3 Repentance is not: Just “coming forward” Conviction of sin – Acts 2:37

4 Repentance is an attitude:
Toward God – Sorrow & return 2 Cor. 7:9,10; Ps. 51:4; Lk. 15:18-20 Toward Sin – Repudiation Ps. 51:1-4 Toward Self – Humility Lk. 15:19,21 Toward Others – Correction & restitution Acts 16:33

5 Characteristics of Repentance
Always relates to a decision in view of one’s obligation to God Complete return to God – 1 Th. 1:9 Decisive break with sin Thorough change of whole heart

6 What Must I Do To Be Saved?
Hear the gospel (Rom. 10:17) Believe Jesus is Christ (Acts 8:37) Repent of your sins (Luke 13:3) Confess your faith (Mt. 10:32) Baptized for remission of sins (Acts 2:38) Walk by faith in newness of life (Rom. 6:4)
