1. Use a three ring binder. You should have a notebook or several smaller binders (not folders). This will allow you to organize and rearrange your notes and handouts much more effectively. Good organization saves time when it’s time to study for tests.
2. Organize your work space. If you don’t have a desk at home, use any table that gives you enough room to work. Ask the cooperation of your family to minimize noise.
3. Organize your study materials (dictionary, textbooks pencils, pens, paper, etc.).
4. Eliminate or reduce distractions. Contrary to what you think, people cannot effectively learn something with the television or loud music blaring nearby.

1. Do not wait until the last minute to begin an assignment. Plan your time wisely and do not procrastinate.
