COLORADO OREC INDUSTRY ANALYSIS SUMMARY
This year we survey CEO's and lead decision makers at ORec Companies to measure how communities are performing in terms of providing these companies with an excellent place to operate. The survey was distributed across the state and we collected statistically significant data from 111 ORec companies. High Performing Areas: Quality of Life: Colorado communities provide an excellent quality of life and local atmosphere. This includes recreational opportunities, lifestyle, a small town feel, a sense of vibrancy, and community events. Main streets across Colorado are thriving with restaurants, coffee shops, breweries, art galleries, and stores. Fronts along the rivers provide places for communities to hold events, concerts, and get-togethers. These activities not only provide businesses with revenue but create an atmosphere where people want to be located. Characteristics of Community Members: What else is special about Colorado? The Coloradans. Business owners indicated that they benefit from having great people in their communities Communities across the state are filled with people who are down -to-earth, passionate, pioneering, supportive, enthusiastic, friendly, and professional. Active Community and Natural Amenities: Colorado communities are known as places where there are sports and fitness enthusiasts, great brands and where there is access to natural amenities. Ease of Marketing and Branding: We learned from our data collection that Colorado is key in ORec’s companies’ branding and marketing of their products. Opportunities: These are areas that were important to business leaders but with lower performance scores. Density and Diversity of Brands: Colorado has a density and diversity of ORec brands. We want to showcase our brands and bring CEO’s, entrepreneurs together across the state and provide networking opportunities. Access to Skilled and Entry Level Talent: Connecting businesses to all levels of talent (skilled and non-skilled) was very important to business leaders. Colorado’s population has the second highest level of degree attainment, however, businesses indicated that it was a challenge connecting talent to businesses.
