3. What is our role? To work in partnership with parents & carers
To ensure that all students are safe
To ensure that all students are learning and make progress
To help remove any barriers to learning
To have an overview of each student, their general progress, their needs and provisions

4. What are we aiming to achieve?
100% attendance and punctuality
Progress within lessons
Positive learning behaviour
Developing the whole child

5. How do we do this?
Rewards – Perfect Club, Tutor group of the week, Postcards/letters home, certificates, Vivo Miles, Rewards Cupboard, Praise, catching students ‘being good’
Sanctions, where necessary
Resolution meetings
Parental contact
Monitoring of lessons/student conduct
Arranging support where necessary

6. How can we best work together to achieve this?
By maintaining regular contact with parents & carers
By involving the students(s) concerned and ensuring they understand what may be happening
By dealing with each issue on a case-by-case basis
By working with other professionals, both within COLA and outside agencies
By praising and rewarding students and informing parents & carers of students’ achievements
By supporting each other with necessary sanctions for poor behaviour

The first point of contact should be the Form Tutor, unless you deem the issue to be serious

We are happy to arrange appointments for parents & carers to come into school to see us personally
The Year 7 pastoral team are all teaching members of staff; sometimes, we may not be able to deal with issues immediately; however, we will endeavour to deal with any issues as quickly as possible and communicate outcomes to all concerned
To avoid disappointment call ahead to arrange an appointment
