Mrs. Clark eagerly recommends the Tiger Tales novel,
Projekt by Alan Gratz. This captivating and suspenseful historical fiction novel takes place in Berlin, Germany during World War II. Michael O’Shaunessey, the son of an Irish Ambassador and his wife, is a member of the Hitler Youth like the rest of the boys in his school. Michael and his parents are spies for the Allies. The internal and external forces Michael experiences affect the choices he has to make. This book has short action-packed chapters that make the reader feel like they are speed-reading through the book. If you like suspense, you’ll like reading Projekt 1065. Character Counts: Food for Thought
Describe what a caring person would do in the following situations: A new student has started at school and doesn’t know anyone. One of your friends started using drugs or alcohol. A classmate didn’t make the basketball team and feels bad. One of your classmates is always left out of social activities. A friend’s uncle died recently. You hear some students gossiping and putting others down. A classmate must pass the next math class to pass for the year. Wilson, 2014
