1 When does the light turn on?
Curiosity Search When does the light turn on? Need Patience Want Knowledge Understanding Wisdom How to Information Trial & error Prov. 18:15 Eccl. 12:8-14 Need is the mother of all invention. Proverbs 18:15 An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge. Solomon’s Epilogue (He speaks in third person) Ecclesiastes 12:8-14 Vanity of vanities, says the Preacher; all is vanity. (9) Besides being wise, the Preacher also taught the people knowledge, weighing and studying and arranging many proverbs with great care. (10) The Preacher sought to find words of delight, and uprightly he wrote words of truth. (11) The words of the wise are like goads, and like nails firmly fixed are the collected sayings; they are given by one Shepherd. (12) My son, beware of anything beyond these. Of making many books there is no end, and much study is a weariness of the flesh. (13) The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. (14) For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil.

2 What happens if the chairs of education are empty?
No one wants to know, understand, or learn

3 How long would it take before…
No one knew how to grow or produce food? No one knew how to make clothes? No one knew how to design and build shelter? There were no doctors or medicine? There were no more cars, airplanes, TVs, computers, the internet or music?

4 What happens if the light turns off?
Curiosity Search What happens if the light turns off? Need Patience Want How to Information Trial & error Hosea 4:6 Prov. 1:20-27 What happens when knowledge is gone? Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me. And since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children. Proverbs 1: Wisdom cries aloud in the street, in the markets she raises her voice; (21) at the head of the noisy streets she cries out; at the entrance of the city gates she speaks: (22) "How long, O simple ones, will you love being simple? How long will scoffers delight in their scoffing and fools hate knowledge? (23) If you turn at my reproof, behold, I will pour out my spirit to you; I will make my words known to you. (24) Because I have called and you refused to listen, have stretched out my hand and no one has heeded, (25) because you have ignored all my counsel and would have none of my reproof, (26) I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when terror strikes you, (27) when terror strikes you like a storm and your calamity comes like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you.

5 Accurate knowledge begins with factually correct information
Romans 10:1-4 – Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved. For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

6 Accurate knowledge is the basis for spiritual wisdom and understanding
Colossians 1:9-10 – And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.

7 Many people are curious and have spiritual questions
Acts 17:21 – Now all the Athenians and the foreigners who lived there would spend their time in nothing except telling or hearing something new.

8 God answers all important questions, but He keeps some secrets – Deut
How did we get here? – Gen. 1&2 Much about Creation I do not (cannot) know Must not fill in the blanks myself Deuteronomy 29:29 "The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law. (Unknowable without God’s revelation) How did God created the heavens and the earth? How did God create by the power of His Word? How did God make male and female in His image and likeness? No human present at Creation. We cannot duplicate the processes of Creation. We cannot comprehend the power of Creation. Psalms 8:3-4 When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, (4) what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?

9 God answers all important questions, but He keeps some secrets – Deut
How did we get here? – Gen. 1&2 Much about Creation I do not (cannot) know Must not fill in the blanks myself Who is God? – Creator, eternal, omni (ALL) Much about God I do not (cannot) know Limited knowledge by observing God’s Creation Detailed knowledge through Divine revelation Romans 1: For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. (19) For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. (20) For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. (21) For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. (22) Claiming to be wise, they became fools, (23) and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things. Galatians 1: For I would have you know, brothers, that the gospel that was preached by me is not man's gospel. (12) For I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ.

10 God answers all important questions, but He some secrets – Deut. 29:29
Why should we care about what God says? Judged by His Words – John 12:48 Ignorance is not bliss – Acts 17:30-31 Words of eternal life – John 6:67-69 What if man proves God wrong or if man’s research conflicts with biblical teaching? John 12:48 The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day. Acts 17: The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent, (31) because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead." John 6: So Jesus said to the Twelve, "Do you want to go away as well?" (68) Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life, (69) and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God." 1 Corinthians 1: For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. (19) For it is written, "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart." (20) Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? (21) For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe.
