1 OpenEye Sales Engineering
PSE & FPC Process OpenEye Sales Engineering

2 The Terminology Pre-Sales Engineering (PSE)
Analysis of network bandwidth and storage calculations, along with recommendations for systems design. Where justifiable, the use of JVSG to provide field of view simulations, and estimate coverage zones. This is performed prior to finalizing sale. Factory Pre-Configuration (FPC) Network design assistance, including (if requested) a final double-check of calculations. Configuration of recorders, cameras, and switches at the factory prior to shipping, on equipment purchased from OpenEye. Pre-Config information, or indication that it is needed should be provided no-later-than the time of purchase. These aren’t exact industry standard terms, but we’ve changed the way we are phrasing and using them to fall in line with the way the rest of the industry seems to be using the terms.

3 PSE: Design and/or Calculations
OpenEye System Designer is a new tool built right into the OpenEye web site. This utility allows you to input the cameras that you desire, including resolution, frame rate, and data retention times, and will provide you with the system that most closely matches your requirements. After selecting a model from the list of recorders, the System Designer will create a downloadable configuration report with the model number of the OpenEye recorder and additional components that you selected for your project, making it easy to work with the OpenEye Sales Team when ordering.

4 PSE: JVSG CCTV Design Software
Sales Engineers can use jvsg software to assist customers with planning and visualization. Calculate camera lens focal length and viewing angles Check the field of view of cameras to help identify dead zones Load site plan / floor plan from a JPEG image or PDF Export drawings and 3D mockups to PDF Complete site layout mockups require authorization from John Lowry.

5 PSE: Camera Installation Planning
Pixels Per Foot Considerations: Three general measurements: Monitoring / Observation = <30 PPF Capture general information Situational Awareness Details / Recognition = 40~60 PPF Identify known persons License Plate Recognition Identification = >60 PPF Identification of unknown persons Facial Recognition PPF is calculated by dividing the horizontal pixels of the image by the horizontal foot width of a scene. Live or Reply Use Pixels Per Foot Monitoring <20 Observation 20-40 Recognition 40-60 Identification 60-80 Strong Identification >80

6 FPC: System & Network Design
Under typical circumstances we offer customers 3 options for network design Generic Typical Build Sequential IP Addresses, from a starting IP address that you provide Completely Custom

7 FPC: Camera Settings & Addressing
Under typical circumstances we offer customers 3 options for camera record settings Generic Typical Build Apply Your Requested Setting to All Cameras Completely Custom

8 The PSE Process RSM, MR, or Integrator/Dealer requests some form of pre-sales design, calculation, engineering, or spec matching assistance. Most calculations, one-off spec matching, and basic design of smaller systems will typically be responded to within two hours of the request. Complex calculations or multi-option calculations will typically be responded to within one business day of the request. Complex design assistance and JVSG mock-ups will typically be responded to within two business days of the request. Bid specification or large project spec matching will typically be responded to within three-to-five business days of the request. Response times may vary based on current work load; and can be expedited when a rush is requested and justified.

9 The PSE Process Necessary communication with Channel Partner will be logged in SLX. Documents for large design project and bid spec responses will be stored in a projects folder under the Sales Engineering folder on the server. RSMs will be added to communication where justified due to political handling, discount requests, or significant potential dollar amount. Under normal circumstances, we will not do complete site layouts in JVSG mock-ups; just key cameras and key views. Due to time investment, all requests for a complete site layout must be approved by John Lowry. \\Server-primary\departmentaldata\(OpenEye)\(SALES)\Sales Engineering\Design and Bid Spec Projects

10 The FPC Process The request for factory pre-configuration MUST BE included on or with the PO submitted to Purchase Orders. Beginning March 1st, factory pre-configuration part MUST BE on the PO. Discounting, even down to $0 is up to you; but that part number must be there. OE-FPC1 PRO-TIP to save time: RSM or Channel Partner requests pre-configuration with a Sales Engineer prior to the PO being submitted so there is time to build the pre-config document.

11 The FPC Process A Sales Engineer then contacts the appropriate person to determine the desired configuration. NOTE: This puts the order in a holding stage, production will not start the order until configuration information is received. NOTE: Even with timely response, if the configuration is complex, this stage may add one day to the processing timeline. The pre-configuration document is built using a template (35253) with customized pre-configuration and pertinent documents stored in the Projects folder. If needed, Sales Engineer follows up to verify configuration is accurate. Once the pre-configuration document has been built, the order along with the documentation is sent to order processing to begin production. Cameras and switches are configured during the QC process. Recorders are configured after they have passed burn-in and QC. NOTE: Applying the configuration typically adds one day to the processing timeline. A finalized pre-configuration document that includes serial numbers and MAC addresses can be provided to the customer upon request. NOTE: 1+1=2 days that a FPC could add to the timeline between ordering and shipping.
