We have developed a three year partnership with a three pronged approach to: Raise our market profile and grow our business. Working in emerging economies will support our focus of developing our client base in Africa, India and Latin America. Enhance our high performance culture utilising our in-house expertise. Leveraging the skills and expertise of our lawyers across multiple offices and jurisdictions. It is the right thing to do. Much of our global Citizenship work is focused on gender based issues through our Empowering Girls and Women Initiative. And links to the SDG framework which Citizenship follows: People - Empowering Girls and Women Planet - Scaling Up Renewable Energy Prosperity – Can be reached by investing in: Girls and women increases their livelihoods, chance of education and quality of life; Affordable and clean energy brings new opportunities and tackles the threat of climate change and pollution. 4 Our Objectives Our goal is to engage our people, our clients and our communities through our Citizenship program to help Barefoot College achieve its primary objective of tripling the number of beneficiaries reached through its programs throughout our three year partnership. Our objective is to help Barefoot triple their number of beneficiaries by solar electrifying 20,000 households providing 200,000 people with access to clean light training 400 Solar Mamas in 35 countries We will do this through a combination of pro bono legal advice, community investment volunteering, and financial support through Touch. 5 Touch Touch action plan Touch objectives
We will inspire internal and external stakeholders to raise US$250,000 for Barefoot College through local, regional, and global fundraising campaigns by 31 December 2019. Engagement with Touch will motivate our people and increase productivity, and build stronger relationships with clients. Between 1 January 2017 and 31 December 2019, our offices and people are expected to engage in at least one global challenge, one local fundraiser, and one local client-related fundraiser. 7 Community Investment Community Investment objective
Community Investment action plan Between 1 January 2017 and 31 December 2019, each office is expected to deliver the Barefoot Futures Programme in at least one school or community group. The Citizenship team will develop educational materials which can be adapted regionally. We will use the skills of our people to engage our local communities with the SDGs and the issues they seek to address, and inspire local action, through the Barefoot Futures programme. 9 Pro Bono Pro Bono objective Pro Bono action plan
Between 1 January 2017 and 31 December 2019, offices in jurisdictions of interest to Barefoot College will be expected to participate in Pro Bono work for this partnership where areas of expertise and staff capacity allows. We will support Barefoot College's expansion into Africa and Latin America by acting as pro bono lawyers in multiple jurisdictions as and when the need arrives. Our lawyers will enhance their legal and problem-solving skills by advising on pro bono matters. Hogan Lovells
