Fast Forward Dual Credit program
2
Fast Forward university courses and culture… … supported success.
3
Fast Forward Louis Riel high school students have a unique opportunity to earn university or college credits in partnership with U. of W., U. of M. , or U. St. B.
4
Fast Forward courses Follow Canadian University or College Curriculum.
Are taught by LRSD Teachers as well as University or College Accredited Professors or Instructors. Provide a first year university experience with little-to-no cost to the student.
5
Considering Fast Forward?
Students can begin in 2nd semester of grade 11
6
Fast Forward Students Must have completed 22 high school credits.
Must have maintained a 70% average grade. May require pre-requisite or the approval of the Fast Forward Coordinator.
7
What are the costs? Courses are free, and are considered dual credits, counting towards high school graduation AND university or college credit. This saves you about $500 per course!
8
CAN YOU DROP THE COURSE? YES. IF A STUDENT DECIDES TO WITHDRAW BEFORE THE EXAM, UNIVERSITY OR COLLEGE TRANSCRIPTS WILL NOT BE AFFECTED.
9
WHICH COURSES WILL BE OFFERED IN THE FUTURE?
STUDENT NEEDS AND INTERESTS DETERMINE THE CHOICE OF COURSES OFFERED, AS DOES UNIVERSITY INSTRUCTOR AVAILABILITY.
10
What a great idea! This Fast Forward is the result of collaboration between the L.R.S.D. Trustees, the Superintendent’s Office and the Manitoba Department of Education.
