1. My Infertility Journey

3. Was 2007 when we decided to start a family I had no period at all and was sent to see an endocrinologist. I weighed 240lbs and had facial swelling. It was then I was diagnosed with pcos.
Started on metformin.
Honeymoon Cuba Sept 2008
We were married August 8, 2008

4. Tests Ultrasound HSG Dye Test (tubal dye)
Numerous Blood tests (LH, FSH, Thyroid etc)
Possible laparoscopy (I wasn’t ready for this one)

5. Diagnosis We got the worst news that no one wants to hear.
Bilateral Tubal Blockage
PCOS
I was told to lose weight if I wanted to conceive through IVF. I couldn’t believe that.
So we decided to move
out east to PEI and start
over.

6. What Happened Next 2010
After spending 4 months out there, I lost 80lbs working as a psw and housekeeping for the Inn of Bay Fortune(a lot of stairs there), my periods returned and my REI Dr decided to redo an HSG and to our surprise my tubes were both open. Like what just happened? We were speechless.

7. The Next Month We Conceived

8. Our Baby Boy Memphis
After 31.5 hours he was born February 5, 2011 at 9:36pm weighing 7lbs 5oz..

9. 2013
Iud Removed and we started trying again, and after heavy and painful cycles, my drs sent me for laparoscopy as they suspected endometriosis which could be likely what happened when we ttc in 2008.

10. Surgery for Endometriosis
Here I am getting ready for surgery and the nurses keep looking over at me and im like what is going on, is something wrong?
Then my gyn came in and he has the biggest smile on his face and says “Corinne you are pregnant Congratulations”. You are lying, no heres the paper, I see 440 and im like holy smokes your not lying I started bawling my eyes out. Everyone is clapping and he said yay I can take down the laser now. Thanks Dr H. 
Another miracle- I called my husband they are all standing by my bedside and I told him its cancelled, your pregnant aren’t you. Yes hun how did you know, well it was obvious, you complained about your boobs being sore, you looked like you were ready to throw up. Thanks hun come pick me up
It took us 7 months to conceive.

11. Our baby girl Abigail Dawn
8.5 hours later she was born at 4:21pm weighing 8lbs 2oz.

12. Education
One thing I learned and no other doctor told me was weight loss was first line of treatment for pcos and ttc.
My obgyn educated me about healthy lifestyle changes and so I lost 40-50lbs right before I conceived my daughter and then my ovulation cycles improved and she said that is likely how I conceived.
She also said no doctor should put women on clomid until you ttc for 6-8months of unprotected intercourse.
She followed the SOGC guidelines.
Now the third time ttc I am following everything she taught me.
Drink lots of water, exercise twice per day.
Eat lots of fruits, vegetables and lean meats.

13. Dr Christine Bloch (Stratford obgyn) the obgyn that educated me well and delivered my kids plus I am a fertility doula and I love it.
